The Hottest Thing Between Two Buns in Chicago

Ever been to Chicago?  Was your cholesterol 1200 when you left?  If you answered “yes” to both of these questions–you did it right, son.  Come back soon, when your cardiologist lets you.  We love polish sausage, the Blues Brothers, da bears, Ditka, sending our Governors to federal prison,  a loaded hot dog with mustard (no ketchup, unless you’re a chick), and a great cheeseburger.  Talk to anyone on the streets of Chicago about what their favorite burger joint is, you’ll feel like you just asked a hippie who his favorite band is at Woodstock.  (You can actually elicit the same reaction by asking what the best deep dish pizza in town is, but that’s a whole ‘nother article and library of research).  Back to burgers–We’re going call it.  The best cheeseburger in Chi Town.  This wil be controversial.

"I shall blog about my experience, 007."

Many blue-blooded American badasses who call our beloved Chicago home will disagree, but here it is:  The best burger in Chi Town is M Burger.  Particularly their menu original “M Burger.” It’s simple, just the right amount of meat, bacon, cheese and a special sauce that makes it amazing.  You could order two, even three.  And the best part, it retails for  $3.79.  Now legend has it that “Kuma’s Corner is the best burger in town.  It’s a small dive with Swedish death metal playing loudly, and the wait is normally around two hours for a table.  Kuma’s was in fact featured on The Food Network’s Diner’s, Drive-ins, and Dives and while we couldn’t help but be impressed by the amount of effort and culinary genius they put into just the meat itself (there is chocolate in the beef for crying out loud!), it’s a lot of blood, sweat, and beers for one burger.  We have no doubt it is both amazing and original, and encourage you to spend that three hours rumored necessary to enjoy one if you want to.  But try an M Burger first.  You won’t be disappointed.  Other shout outs to Epic Burger, The Burger Bar, and 25 Degrees.  All deserve high regard. And, if you’re ever in a big little small towncalled Nashville, Tennessee, check out The Pharmacy in the German district of east Nashville.  We wish it was in Chicago.
