Finally! A Purpose for the Skinny Geek in the Family (Thanks, Apple)

Apple Geek Does Good

“Thankfully, he didn’t upgrade his iPhone 4 to iOS 7.”

Break out the Kleenex, sports fans! It’s time for your sensitivity training. Apple has a brand new Christmas video putting the importance of family above their own products, and it’s a bit of a tearjerker.

For most of us, the holidays are a mixed blessing of anticipation and a little dread. No matter where you fall in the pecking order of life, however you were when you left home is where you remain upon returning to it. Obviously, this realization is either a boon or a bane depending upon where you fall. How unusual it is for a major corporation to zero-in so acutely on the aspect of fitting-in within one’s own family.

Perhaps the only real fallacy in its depiction is the tech-savvy, gangly teen would most likely be a PC. And, he’d use his Droid and Google Chromecast to present the video. It’d be a total brogrammer who’d rig that up using Apple Air and Apple TV, and then he’d thump his chest, pop his collar and spike his iPhone in the middle of the living room… because he’s got mad skilz and an Otterbox case, son!

Nevertheless, enjoy the encore presentation of the commercial below and…. Happy Holidays.
