Harley Quinn in New Suicide Squad Movie Trailer [Video]

The internet has been ablaze with talk of the new Suicide Squad trailer, which debuted on the CW last night to mostly rave reviews. We’d be remiss if we didn’t join the fray. However, our reaction was a little mixed. We still intend to see the film, but feel the role of Harley Quinn was miscast. Actress Margot Robbie is certainly beautiful and talented, however her looks are too regal and belie her ever falling in with such a motley crew. Moreover, a Brit by birth, she struggles to maintain an American accent while applying the appropriate verve required of the role. Consequently, we have a Harley Quinn who fades in and out of a neutral, Midwestern American accent when audiences have been accustomed to a harsh, northeastern accent. We’ve got two videos for you below to make the comparison for yourselves, one is the coveted trailer, the other, the idealized Harley Quinn from the latest Batman video game, Arkham Knight. All of which prompts us to ask, who do YOU think would make an awesome Harley Quinn—actress or cosplayer? Personally, if she could act, we think Katy Perry has this shit nailed shut.
