Buddha’s Smile

Buddha Smile

Welcome to the premiere installment of the podcast series “In the corner back by the woodpile”, exclusively here at the Brophisticate. Join myself, Spun Counterguy, as I hang with various peoples from all walks of life, sometimes with an aim or story to tell, while at other times just experimenting in conversational free association.

For the first episode, we go to China where we chat with “Smile”, a young man practicing Buddhism. This may not seem so out of ordinary considering China has arguably exported the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama more than even it country of origin, India. But with the Chinese Communist government’s heavy-handed effort over the past 60 years at persuading it’s citizens to abandon the ‘old ways’, our guest is a modern anomaly. Smile tells us about his beliefs, struggles and his difficult journey to meet face to face with the world renown Buddhist master Chin Kung.
