Fun Times for the ‘Fordham Flipper’

Chances are you’ve seen this video already, but it was too awesome not to post. On April 21, 2010 — Fordham University’s Brian Kownacki scores a run by leaping over Iona catcher James Beck and landing on home plate with a handstand, to put Fordam ahead 12-9. Kownacki tried to score from first base on a base hit up the middle that was misplayed. The sophomore infielder realized he was meat at the plate if he slid, so he performed a front-flip to clear Iona College catcher James Beck and score safely after tumbling perfectly on top of home.

Our favorite part is the duration afterwards where the Iona coaches try to argue the play. All the gesturing and arms akimbo looks just as silly as an old episode of Keystone Cops.
